I've found a Hydrocity video which looks like it has the potential to be a record-smasher, but I just can't pull it off to see.

Indeed it is... however, the "layer" tag on sonic is wrong, so I believe he's stuck where he is... I could be wrong, though...

I'd have to test it out, this thought is just prelim based on my knowledge of the game...

From the looks of it, it's got no major use.

Notice that the wall zip performed herein takes you to the repeating sequence of the act. You would have to backtrack all the way back through the entire sequence to even get near the boss.

perhaps there's a jump that could be implemented somewhere to put you more in-line with a speedrun?  hadn't pondered that...

I wish I had a savestate to fool around with...
